Implementasi Sistem Deteksi Birahi Sapi Perah menggunakan Sensor Suhu Tubuh berbasis Internet of Things

The accuracy of estrus detection in dairy cattle is a critical determinant of reproductive success and farm productivity. However, conventional detection methods relying on manual physical observation often lead to errors and delays in artificial insemination (AI). This study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method to design an Internet of Things (IoT)-based, real-time dairy cattle body temperature monitoring system integrated with an Android application. The R&D process encompassed requirements analysis, design, implementation, and testing. The system utilizes a NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller, a body temperature sensor, Firebase Realtime Database, and an Android application interface developed using MIT App Inventor. Temperature data is transmitted wirelessly via Wi-Fi to Firebase and subsequently displayed on the application, showing temperature readings, estrus status, and update timestamps. Test results demonstrate that the system and Android application operate with precision, in accordance with the design specifications. This research makes a significant contribution by transforming conventional estrus detection into an affordable and accurate IoT-based digital monitoring system, thereby minimizing AI failures and enhancing reproductive management efficiency in modern dairy farming.
