Perancangan Aplikasi Pre-Order Barang Berbasis Android dengan Pendekatan Rapid Application Development untuk Optimalisasi Proses Pemesanan

PT. Gema Pola Persada is a reseller company engaged in the trading of measuring instruments, abrasives, and sandblasting. The main problem faced by the company is the manual ordering process via telephone and WhatsApp, as well as order recording that is prone to input errors and late confirmation. This study aims to design an Android-based ordering application to support the pre-order system to make the business process more efficient and structured. The Rapid Application Development (RAD) method was used in the development of this application because it is iterative and allows users to be directly involved in the design process. Implementation was carried out using Android Studio with the Java programming language and the Firebase Firestore database. System testing was carried out using the black-box testing method to ensure all application functions run as needed. The implementation results show that the application can help admins manage orders efficiently, speed up the confirmation process, and make it easier for customers to place orders. This application is also able to reduce the risk of recording errors and data loss. Thus, this system is expected to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and quality of the company's services in supporting digital-based business processes. In addition to functional testing using the black-box testing method, a user satisfaction evaluation (User Acceptance Test) was also conducted, which showed that 90% of respondents considered the application easy to use and increased ordering speed.
